Dr. Mohammed Abdul Basith was born at Sylhet, Bangladesh on 5th March 1975. He has obtained B.Sc.(Hons.) in 1997 (examination held in 1999) and M.Sc. in Physics in 1998 (examination held in 2001) from the Department of Physics, Shah Jalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He has obtained M.Phil. degree from the Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka in 2005 in Physics in the field of Magnetism. Basith has achieved PhD degree from the Materials and Condensed Matter Physics group, University of Glasgow, UK in 2011. Dr. Basith started his career as a Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Faujdarhat Cadet College, Chittagong, Bangladesh on 1st August 2001. Then he worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Physics of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology, Gazipur, Bangladesh from October 2001 to March, 2005. On 09 March 2005, he has joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), Dhaka Bangladesh. He has joined as an Assistant Professor in the same department on 28th December 2011. He has appointed as an Associate Professor in the same department on 31st March 2015. His research expertise is transmission electron microscopy characterisation of patterned ferromagnetic nanostructures by lithographic techniques. At present in BUET he is working on preparation and characterization of multiferroic materials. He is also conducting micromagnetic simulation of magnetic nanostructures by solving Landau Lifshitz Gilbert (LLG) equation with the aid of simulation package OOMMF.
